World Physiotherapy is the sole global voice for the physiotherapy profession, representing over 600,000 physiotherapists across 125 member organisations. We are an international non-profit organisation, dedicated to strengthening our member organisations, advancing physiotherapy education, research and practice, supporting professional development, and advocating for universal access to high-quality, equitable care. Working with our member organisations, regions, speciality groups and networks we connect a dynamic community of physiotherapists committed to advancing physical health, functional mobility, and quality of life for all people. We support this through a diverse range of activities including policy and advocacy work, the biennial world congress, development programmes, a portfolio of education activities to raise standards and quality assurance, and global data profiling the profession.

We are now seeking an innovative, driven and visionary Chief Executive Officer to steer World Physiotherapy through its next phase of growth and impact. This leader will be an advocate for the profession, a strategic thinker, and an effective ambassador who can expand our influence, partnerships, and global reach. The Chief Executive Officer will role-model our values, build an inclusive culture across the organisation and work with our board, members, and a dedicated team to elevate World Physiotherapy’s role in shaping health policies and to champion the essential role of physiotherapy within health systems worldwide.

The successful candidate will bring senior-level experience in a membership body, non-profit, or related organisation. They will be a dynamic communicator capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders, from policymakers to global health organisations, with an understanding of equity and diversity principles, the ability to think strategically about future opportunities for World Physiotherapy, and have the financial acumen to ensure income diversification for long term sustainability. They will also be passionate about physiotherapy and the value it brings to preventative and rehabilitative healthcare.
