Worksop College and Ranby House

Head

Job Reference LAQBB
Closing Date Wednesday 12 Jun 2024 (Now Expired)

An exciting opportunity awaits at Worksop College and Ranby House to join as the new Head. With a record number of pupils on roll and a commitment to holistic education, we’re seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to guide our diverse student body towards excellence. This is your chance to shape the future of a school with a rich history and an exciting path ahead.

Worksop College and Ranby House stand as a unified community across two schools, proudly non-selective and catering to a broad range of abilities, educating children from ages 2 to 18, with both day and boarding facilities. Our focus on holistic development ensures that every child’s unique talents – be they academic, athletic, musical, or otherwise – are nurtured. We believe education extends beyond academic achievement to encompass personal growth and human flourishing.

Nestled in the picturesque North Nottinghamshire countryside, our community thrives on a rich heritage and looks towards a bright future. We prioritise each individual, their aspirations, and their success.

Founded in 1895 by Victorian educational reformer Canon Nathaniel Woodard, Worksop College was the last of his schools to be personally established. Our 350-acre campus features state-of-the-art facilities including; county cricket-standard grounds, pristine rugby and hockey pitches, and advanced astro-turf surfaces. Specialised areas for each sport ensure optimal conditions, complemented by netball and tennis courts, an athletics track, swimming pool, climbing wall, squash courts, and modern sports halls at both sites.

We seek a visionary leader to collaborate with the governors and senior leadership team in navigating the evolving political, economic, and social landscape, ensuring the school realises its long-term vision and potential. The next Head must demonstrate unparalleled leadership, backed by a proven track record of academic excellence and exceptional communication skills, inspiring confidence in the governors and the entire staff body. They will drive the team to deliver the outstanding and holistic educational experience for which Worksop College is renowned.
