Operated by the University of Strathclyde, The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) is a bold and ambitious industry-centred project to create an international centre of advanced manufacturing expertise and excellence. NMIS is where industry, academia and public-sector support agencies work together to transform skills, productivity and innovation, with the vision to make Scotland a global leader in advanced manufacturing. It is a truly collaborative project with partners including the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Skills Development Scotland, the Scottish Funding Council, Renfrewshire Council and the UK Government through the High Value Manufacturing Catapult. NMIS is operated by the University of Strathclyde, providing a key link into the wider academic community in Scotland through the Scottish Research Partnership in Engineering and across the UK High Value Manufacturing Catapult network.

This is a hugely exciting opportunity for an exceptional and experienced leader who cares deeply about ensuring that NMIS works collaboratively to deliver a world class service to its wide range of stakeholders, whilst leading the way in tackling the most substantial challenges of the age focusing on climate action, decarbonisation and digital transformation. As CEO you will work with businesses, government and universities to transform the Scottish economy through advanced manufacturing and technology.

As a values-based organisation, we are building an inclusive culture to make NMIS a brilliant place to work where our people feel valued, have a voice and can be their authentic selves. We value difference and diversity, not only because we believe it is the right thing to do, but because it will help us to be more innovative and make better decisions. We actively welcome applications from anyone who shares our commitment to inclusion. We will fully support candidates with a disability or long-term condition who require adjustments during the recruitment process.
