In 2024, we celebrate our bicentenary, and we are now beginning the search for a new President and Vice-Chancellor to lay the foundations for our next 100 years and to succeed Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, who stands down in the summer of 2024. The President and Vice-Chancellor is responsible for the leadership and management of the University and its community, and is accountable to the Board of Governors.  The successful candidate will provide leadership and strategic vision that is bold, distinctive, clear and ambitious, and continue to deliver an environment where all members of our community can thrive and achieve their full potential.

We are looking for an exceptional individual with an outstanding track record of strategic, dynamic, collaborative and emotionally intelligent leadership at a senior level in a multi-faceted and complex environment.  The new President and Vice-Chancellor will be an inclusive, inspiring and highly visible leader internally as well as a compelling and persuasive advocate for the University externally.  A commitment to outstanding student experience, world leading research and social responsibility is paramount.
