The Lowry is a dynamic international arts centre in Salford’s creative and cultural quarter at MediaCityUK committed to bringing the best culture in the world to the North of England, celebrating the unique heritage of its location, and putting communities and people at the heart of all it does. As the culture lead for Salford, The Lowry is a place maker, driving meaningful partnerships to plan, resource and deliver citywide programmes ensuring that the people of Salford can access high quality culture and realise their creative potential. The diverse programme includes theatre, visual arts exhibitions, live performances, cross-arts activity and extensive learning and engagement programmes . The Lowry is the most visited cultural venue in Greater Manchester, one of the UK’s leading combined arts organisations and one of the most successful cultural regeneration projects in the world.

The Lowry is now seeking ambitious, innovative and passionate individuals to join an exceptional Board of Trustees focussed on delivering change and improving lives within the local community of Salford and Greater Manchester. The Lowry is looking for Board members who are passionate about helping young people and underrepresented groups through the medium of the arts and who are genuinely committed to creating accessible, affordable experiences for all. Successful candidates will be dynamic leaders with strong communication skills, the ability to contribute to strategic conversations and a good understanding of the role of a trustee. The following skill-sets are particularly sought after: community engagement and outreach, the performing and/or visual arts, public policy and influencing, finance, digital; technology and innovation, commerce and environmental sustainability.
