The Courtauld is a leading institution for the study of art history and a major public gallery, recognised internationally for its teaching, research, and conservation. Founded in the 1930s, it is an independent college of the University of London and offers degree programmes in art history, curating, and conservation. Renowned for its expert faculty, it covers subjects from ancient art to contemporary digital forms, with an increasingly global focus. The Courtauld Gallery in central London houses one of the UK’s finest art collections, including masterpieces by Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists like Van Gogh and Manet. Dedicated to accessibility, The Courtauld engages the public through exhibitions, educational programmes, and community initiatives, striving to enhance understanding of art’s role across history and in today’s world.
