St George’s School, Edinburgh is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 3-18 and boys aged 3-8, with approximately 700 students. St George’s is a remarkable and unique school founded in 1888 by pioneers of women’s education to promote educational excellence for girls, and it remains committed to providing an excellent education to all its pupils. St George’s is now seeking an outstanding candidate to take up the role of Head. The new Head will be responsible for leading the school and maintaining its excellent reputation. The successful candidate will bring a strong strategic vision to ensure that the School continues to thrive and remain successful. The new Head will be a dynamic and effective leader and highly skilled communicator with the ability to inspire students and staff and a view to maintaining high standards in all areas across the School.

The new Head must have proven successful leadership experience as a Head or Deputy Head in a high-performing school, as well as contributing widely to school life. The successful candidate will bring an understanding and knowledge of, ideally, both Scottish and English education systems, a passion for single-sex education, high academic standards, and an unswerving commitment to excellence.  Above all, they will be an enthusiastic, energic leader with high integrity, honesty, and compassion.
