Sibford School
Head
Sibford School is an independent co-educational boarding school for children aged 3-18. Established in 1842, we are proud to be different, and our strong and tightknit community is underpinned by the Quaker ethos and values that have been central to our approach since our beginnings. Today, Sibford is a thriving community, situated in a beautiful fifty-acre campus in North Oxfordshire, that has undergone many changes and developments focused on delivering an education that fully meets the needs of the 21st century.
Last year we received double recognition from the Independent Schools Inspectorate as being a school that is rated Excellent in terms of the quality of the education we deliver, and in terms of the personal development achieved by our pupils. We attach the highest priority to the pastoral care provided to our school community.
The School Committee (Governing Body) now seek an exceptional Head, and have set out a vision for Sibford School, which they hope to work with the next Head to achieve. We are looking for an inspirational, bold and empathetic leader who will bring fresh ideas and impetus to drive through decisions and build on our successes, whilst ensuring that our school community, pupils and staff continue to flourish.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media accounts, as part of their application.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
