Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Two Non-executive Directors

Job Reference AROK
Closing Date Monday 23 Oct 2023 (Now Expired)

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (ROH) is one of the largest specialist orthopaedic units in Europe. Our Trust is a very special hospital; big enough to deliver world class services and small enough to offer exceptional patient and staff experience.

The Trust has recently launched an ambitious five-year strategy, and there is truly exciting work already underway, including investments in innovation, the use of new technologies, and pioneering research. As the first Trust in Birmingham to recently receive accreditation as an Elective Surgery Hub, we are a nationally-recognised centre of excellence.

We are now looking for two Non-executive Directors to join our Board. Along with the other Directors, you will be responsible for the decisions that set our strategy, and for our successes in leading improvement of our healthcare services for our regional, national, and international patients.

The successful candidates will be strategic leaders, with Board-level experience, and the ability to listen, question intelligently and debate constructively. You will be able to support the Executive and leadership of the organisation, with a passion for seeing the ROH grow, and bring a demonstrable commitment to our values, and diversity and inclusion.

For these roles, we are seeking one individual who has a senior track record of achievement in nursing roles, and another individual who brings senior-level experience gained in a commercial setting. Both individuals will need to work across professional boundaries, providing challenge and fresh perspectives internally. They will also play a critical outward-facing role in building the brand as a leader in musculoskeletal and orthopaedics within the wider system.

The ROH is an equal opportunities employer. We employ people of difference and are committed to growing an inclusive culture, where difference is celebrated, and people feel able to bring their whole and authentic self to work.

Saxton Bampfylde Ltd is acting as an employment agency advisor to the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS FT on this appointment. For further information about the role, including details about how to apply, please visit www.saxbam.com/appointments using reference AROK. Alternatively telephone +44 (0)20 7227 0880 (during office hours). Applications should be received by midday on 23 October 2023.
