Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI)

CEO

Job Reference JLIAE
Closing Date Monday 13 Dec 2021 (Now Expired)

Salary – competitive

Location – Aylesford

Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) is a charity like no other in the UK: we provide a breadth of support, primarily to armed forces veterans and their families that is unparalleled. Through our ground-breaking social enterprise, contracted services and fundraising work we generate an annual income today of almost £20m. We use this to provide a range of integrated services, which include employment, employability support, learning and development. We provide vital emergency accommodation, family homes, specially adapted homes, assisted living and high dependency nursing – all in our own facilities.

We have just embarked upon our second century of providing these much-needed services, and demand has never been greater. Our outgoing CEO has successfully stewarded the charity to put us in a strong position for the future; he will be heading off for a well-earned retirement in 2022 and we now seek an exceptional individual to pick up the baton. Working closely with the Board of Trustees and senior management team, the new CEO will lead the charity to future growth and improvement of our portfolio of services and support offerings.

Due to the varied strands of activity within this unique charity, we recognise there isn’t a single ideal role profile for the CEO, and so have articulated the skills and experience criteria in such a way as to encourage a wide and diverse response to our search.

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about the charity and its aims, and a strategic thinker with a demonstrable track record of building and leading high-performing teams. Our next CEO will need strong commercial and financial awareness, and a good understanding of the charity sector and armed forces charities. We will look for someone who will be a great ambassador for RBLI with a range of audiences.

What we can say with confidence is that, whoever you are, you will find RBLI a great and inspirational place to work.

We improve lives every day by inspiring those we help and supporting them to find work and lead independent lives.
