Pallant House Gallery is a leading UK museum that stimulates new ways of thinking about Modern British art from 1900 to now. Housed in a beautiful Grade 1-listed Queen Anne townhouse in the heart of Chichester with an award-winning contemporary wing, the Gallery presents a significant collection, exhibition programme and learning programme to a broad audience. Next year Pallant House Gallery will celebrate its 40th anniversary and 2022 will see the start of an exciting new chapter for the Gallery. This is a life-changing moment in the Gallery’s history as it embarks on an ambitious capital project to renew and expand its public spaces, to create a new Collections Centre for the internationally significant collection of Modern and Contemporary art, and to develop new spaces for award-winning learning and community activities and public programmes.

Pallant House Gallery are looking for a Chair to lead it through this new phase in the Gallery’s life. Successful candidates will be committed to the vision of Pallant House Gallery to be recognised as an international centre for British art from 1900 to now and passionate about the social value of modern art. They will be experienced senior leaders with strategic vision and an innovative approach, capable of providing excellent leadership to the trustees and supporting the organisation as it embarks on the planned capital project.
