Newlife
CEO
Over half a million disabled and terminally ill children in the UK are living without the vital equipment they need, either because they are denied it or face delays that have life-changing circumstances.
With over 30 years’ experience, Newlife operates the only specialist service for families with disabled children in crisis, who urgently need life-changing equipment because they are in danger, in pain or cannot be discharged from hospital without the equipment they need. At Newlife we believe no child should suffer needless and avoidable pain, be injured or develop new disabilities because they do not have the right equipment. No family should feel abandoned or alone.
As we enter our next chapter, we are looking for our next CEO who will lead the organisation to even greater things for children with disabilities and their families, to help us to double our impact and reach in the next 5-7 years, and double our income to enable us to do that.
Newlife’s predominant income source is its commercial operation, with the retail stores its largest contributor. The role covers heading up a trading business which takes and processes stock from a lot of brands and retailers, running several warehouses and stores around the country, charity fundraising and our range of charitable services which includes equipment grants and loans, help lines, campaigning, awareness and research. Of course, also, developing great people and culture and developing and maintaining relationships with partners in public services, politics, business and our tremendous volunteers. This is a real hands on CEO role to run both a business and a charity, which would likely suit either someone already leading or very senior in a charity with strong commercial experience or someone with a solid trading background who wants to switch to the charity sector and really wants to help children and their families.
We are committed to diversity and inclusion, and would welcome applications for this role from a range of backgrounds. Saxton Bampfylde is committed to being an equal opportunities organisation. Should you wish to discuss accessibility or any reasonable adjustments you may require, please don’t hesitate to let us know and we would be more than happy to help with any queries.

No family should feel abandoned or alone.
