National Centre for Social Research

Chief Executive

Job Reference VBMO
Closing Date Thursday 30 Nov 2023

At The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) we believe social research has the power to make life better. We’re Britain’s largest independent social research organisation. For the last 50 years we’ve worked on behalf of government and charities to find out what people really think about important social issues and how Britain is run.

We want to make a positive difference to our society by providing exceptional and relevant evidence to inform decision taking. Our new strategy, “Making Life Better”, sets out the vision, future direction and our ambitions for NatCen in the 2020s and how we are going to achieve them. NatCen is seeking to appoint a new CEO to take on the leadership of the organisation and continue leading the delivery this Strategy, building on the outstanding contribution of the current incumbent across all aspects of our organisation and the research work we undertake.

Working closely with our Board of Trustees and leading the Leadership Team, the CEO will provide strategic leadership and direction for NatCen. The successful candidate will lead on the promotion of our work and act as an ambassador for the organisation with key stakeholders and the wider public. Candidates should have a demonstrable track record of strategic and corporate leadership, having led transformational change with a focus on commerciality. We are really excited by the opportunities ahead of us and the new CEO will have the privilege of leading NatCen on the next stage of our exciting journey. If you are equally as excited by this role as we are and are keen to join us, please consider applying.
