The Metanoia Institute is a specialist provider of high-quality training in the psychological therapies, operating for more than 30 years. We offer part-time, university validated undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology and allied programmes in Coaching, Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes, Organisational Development and Therapeutic Fostering. At the centre of our mission is the commitment to develop high-quality professional graduates. We are committed not only to teaching and learning excellence but to the innovative organisation and flexible delivery of our teaching, in ways that genuinely respond to the needs of our students and fulfil professional body requirements. We operate fully within Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) guidelines and the Office for Students (OfS) regulation. We also participated in the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF) and have submitted staff research in 2021 to the Research Excellence Framework (REF). Based in Ealing, London, we currently have over 1,400 students and 150 members of staff, many of whom work part-time.
Metanoia is now looking for an inspirational leader to join our board as Chair and guide the organisation through the next phase of our development. The Chair will provide effective leadership to a high calibre and engaged group of trustees, ensuring a high standard of good governance.
We are looking for a highly effective communicator who will quickly build relationships across the organisation as well as act as a visible and passionate ambassador for the organisation. Candidates will be established senior leaders from the public, private or not-for profit sectors comfortable advocating for and representing the organisation at the highest levels, with an understanding of and ability to navigate our complex stakeholder landscape. They will be motivated by a deep passion for Metanoia’s mission to provide high quality psychotherapy and counselling education, to prepare graduates for clinical practice, and to actively engage in developing research and practice that will improve the mental health within society. This is an opportunity to lead the board of an organisation which is committed to developing skilled and dedicated professionals.
