London Film School

Governors

Job Reference EABDWB
Closing Date Tuesday 12 Nov 2024 (Now Expired)

London Film School (LFS) is at an exciting and pivotal point in its history and now seeks senior leaders from the screen industries to join the Board as Governors.

On the cusp of a major transformation project with a new, state-of-the-art building in the centre of London, there has never been a better time to join the board of one of the world’s leading film schools.

Located in the heart of Covent Garden, the UK’s oldest film school, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of filmmakers, is a long-recognised centre of creative excellence in filmmaking and offers a dynamic and intensive environment that fosters lifelong global connections and shapes the industry. The school’s impressive alumni network spans the globe, reflecting its international reach and reputation. Graduates have gone on to win every major film award in all corners of the industry and this year, for a third consecutive year, an LFS graduation film was selected in one of the main student film selections of the Cannes Film Festival.

LFS now looks to appoint three Governors, ideally all from industry, and one with particular experience in finance and audit (to chair the Audit Committee). Candidates will have a passion for film, education, and the creative industries, alongside a demonstrable commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Governors will play a critical role in strategic planning and resource management and should possess the ability to analyse and review complex issues, effectively weighing conflicting opinions. Financial acumen is important, as are excellent communication skills and a commitment to the highest standards of integrity and honesty. Governors should also be willing to help facilitate the LFS’ development ambitions and act as advocates and champions of the School.

Saxton Bampfylde Ltd is acting as an employment agency advisor to the London Film School on this appointment.
