London Film School (LFS) has long been the place for emerging creative talent to hone their craft, find their voice and engage directly with the vibrant UK screen industries, and has a tradition of producing graduates who have significant impact on the industry and wider culture in the UK and around the world. The school produces a huge output of films each year, many of which are screened at key festivals annually, with many also winning prizes including at Locarno, Berlinale, Edinburgh, Cinéfondation, and the MA Screenwriting programme has multiple Oscar-winners amongst its alumni cohort. Consistently named as one of the top international film schools by The Hollywood Reporter, LFS is celebrated for its commitment to film, innovation and creative freedom, its reputation for teaching excellence, and its practical and holistic approach to learning. LFS welcomes a student cohort from every corner of the globe and has always been a cultural hub where fresh voices, experiences and perspectives rub shoulders with tradition and history.

Within this exciting context, LFS is now seeking candidates with the vision to capitalise on this opportunity, and the dynamism to make the school an integral and valued contributor to the future of the screen industries across the world.

The Director provides creative and inspirational leadership, and strategic vision, whilst also providing strong management oversight of operations and affairs. The new Director will have the opportunity to swiftly develop a new strategy for the school that will focus on ensuring its long-term sustainability, and widening access to students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds to determine the School’s importance in the future of the screen industries. Ideal candidates will bring an understanding of the industry, as well as education, strong leadership experience, excellent communication skills and a highly strategic and visionary approach, with a leadership style that is active, visible and resilient yet consultative and diplomatic.
