In Kind Direct

Chief Executive

Job Reference KBOJA
Closing Date Friday 07 Jun 2024

In Kind Direct is a growing, innovative, charity focused on distributing consumer products, donated by companies, to charitable organisations;  we believe everyone deserves access to life’s essentials and that no usable product should go to waste. Since being established by HM King Charles III in 1996, In Kind Direct has distributed over £350m worth of goods – including personal hygiene, household, clothes, toys and technology – to charities, community groups, food banks and schools across the UK. Through this network, we help 445,000 people every week, and enable charities to put more funds into front-line services.

Beyond our vital work meeting immediate need, we are amplifying the voice of local organisations and advocating for change. In Kind Direct coined the phrase, and leads the campaign across the UK to tackle, hygiene poverty. Internationally, we are bringing together like-minded charities who specialise in product giving for social good.  Members of In Kind Direct International collaborate to share information, innovation and best practice, and to further raise the profile of our shared mission.

We set an ambition to triple our impact by 2025, which we are on track to achieve, and our team has never been more determined to grow our reach and capacity further.  It is against this background that we are looking for our next CEO, who will lead the development of a new strategy to 2030 and beyond, and shape the future of our work and partnerships both in the UK and internationally.

For this outstanding opportunity, we are looking for an experienced leader, who will passionately share and promote our vision internally and externally. You will bring strong commercial, stakeholder management and communications skills, and the ability to engage corporates, funders, sector partners and most importantly our charity network and the people they serve.  You will be someone who embodies our values of kindness, togetherness, integrity and innovation, and who can provide both leadership and support to our high-performing team and our ever-widening community of partners, supporters and other stakeholders.

We are passionate about diversity and the positive impact this has by bringing different experiences, skills and thinking to the table. We therefore actively encourage applications from all backgrounds and experiences.
