Hoburne
Non-Executive Director
Now in its fifth generation of family ownership, Hoburne is a much loved and well respected, successful leisure and property development business. Multi-award winning and with a diverse portfolio of interests that includes holiday parks based across the Southwest, caravan sales, golf clubs and a long history of developing and managing properties in the Hampshire/Dorset area.
Founded over 100 years ago, Hoburne and its sister company Burry and Knight have a rich heritage and remain a cherished family business, having transitioned to the fourth and fifth generation who continue to carry the responsibility for its success and prosperity to ensure its legacy is passed on to the generations to come. Professionally run, with a clear and robust governance structure, people are set at the heart of the business, and it is a highly respected name both within the holiday industry and as a local employer, with many long-serving staff members. Hoburne’s values of kindness, integrity, going for great and playing as a team ensure that it continues to be an ambitious, stable and exciting business.
The board is comprised of key executives, family members, and an independent non-executive. Hoburne now wishes to appoint an additional independent non-executive who will act as Chair for the Audit Committee. This appointment will further strengthen the depth of financial experience on the board, with the ideal candidate bringing a valuable perspective of a CFO or FD in the consumer-leisure sector, within the UK. Candidates will combine a commercial skillset and board level experience with key personal attributes to be successful in the context of a people and customer focussed business. They will be able to demonstrable a clear sense of drive and ambition, balanced by a pragmatism and humility, and finally a desire to work in support of the business’s future development and expansion.
