Comic Relief

Chair

Job Reference RADUC
Closing Date Friday 06 Oct 2023 (Now Expired)

Comic Relief’s vision is A Just World Free From Poverty. We believe everyone should be able to have a decent standard of living. To live life with dignity and respect. For over 35 years, we have entertained and inspired people to give generously to support people living incredibly tough lives. All year-round, Comic Relief works hard to support some incredible projects making a change to people’s lives across the UK and around the world.

This year, we launched an exciting new strategy that focuses on three key areas: alleviating poverty; tackling the injustices that keep people in poverty; and standing with those most harmed by climate change. We are now looking for a dynamic and committed Chair to work closely with our CEO and provide leadership to our board as we implement this strategy.

Candidates will bring substantial chairing experience and a track record of strategic leadership, driving organisations to make them more sustainable. Experience in a global context will be helpful, as well as an appreciation of the drivers of social, political and cultural change. You will be values-led, bringing a sense of humour and fun to the role, and comfortable acting as an external ambassador. The time commitment for this role is envisaged to be up to one day per week. This is the opportunity to be part of an organisation that is working to make a better world possible, supporting people to change their lives.

We recognise diversity and inclusion are a source of strength in achieving our mission and welcome, and encourage, applications from a wide range of backgrounds.
