Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Chief Digital Officer

Job Reference ZCNA
Closing Date Friday 18 Jun 2021 (Now Expired)

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a transformational leader, an innovator and trail blazer who will be able to create and deliver a compelling vision and strategy underpinned by Joined Up Care Derbyshire and Chesterfield Royal’s strategy. The incoming Chief Digital Officer (CDO) will be an established senior leader with a track record of delivering real and ambitious change through innovative uses of technology. You will be a dynamic and authentic leader and will bring excellent influencing and communication skills, and the ability to build support across large, complex organisations or systems, for wide-ranging programmes of change.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the role is a unique, newly created opportunity at Chesterfield Royal to lead on digital transformation across the Trust and play a key role in Joined Up Care Derbyshire, bringing digital opportunities to the fore. This is an opportunity to drive step change in the Trust’s approach to digital working, integrating views, planning and practice with a common goal to embed digital first thinking across the Trust. This work is integral to the organisation and system’s improvement and change agenda. You would be joining the Trust at a moment of immense change, as it embarks on a new five-year strategy, looking to a future focused on innovation and integration, always with people at the centre of all we do.
Whilst previous experience of the NHS is not required, the incoming CDO should be a role model to our organisation and highly motivated by our mission and the values that we live by every day: compassion, ambition, respect and encouragement.
Chesterfield Royal is the district general hospital for Chesterfield and North Derbyshire. 4,500 staff and over 150 volunteers serve a population of more than 400,000 and the Trust also provides child and adolescent mental health services, community-based services, including midwifery and radiology, alongside GP and primary care services from three practices within Royal Primary Care – with a total of eight surgeries across ‘our patch’.
