Focused and based in Wales, Bute Energy is a renewable energy and infrastructure company which aims to generate clean green power to help address the climate crisis by unlocking Wales’ potential for onshore renewable power generation and bring benefits to local communities. Headquartered in Cardiff, Bute Energy are seeking to deliver a portfolio of energy parks, using the latest proven technology, direct grid connections and propriety distribution network, to deliver onshore renewable power in Wales. Bute Energy currently have a core development pipeline that can deliver over 2GW of onshore wind by 2030.

As the development pipeline advances, Bute Energy is now seeking to recruit two Non-Executive Directors to the Board to further support and contribute to the strategic development of one of the UK’s leading renewable energy companies. The successful candidate(s) will demonstrate strategic thinking, vision and exceptional interpersonal skills, with a good understanding of the importance of strong governance. They will bring senior level experience in the energy, utilities or infrastructure sectors, ideally gained at executive or board level. Candidates will bring a particular skillset and area of expertise, including policy and regulation; current and media affairs; and ideally a connection to Wales. Above all, candidates will bring enthusiasm and passion for Bute’s mission and values.

The expected time commitment is approx. 2-3 days per month in addition to availability for meetings, induction and training as required. The successful candidate(s) will also sit on and chair a committee(s) of the Board to be determined by their individual skills and experience and where they could most add value. It will be expected that board members be able to travel to Bute Energy’s headquarters in Cardiff for meetings. The role is remunerated.
