Bletchley Park Trust
Chair
Bletchley Park, once the top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers, is now a vibrant heritage attraction and museum; a symbol of innovation, perseverance, and the extraordinary achievements of the men and women who worked there. Bletchley Park is also celebrated as a birthplace of computing and its importance for understanding the past and relevance for the future. Welcoming over 250,000 visitors a year, alongside its exciting programme of exhibitions and events, Bletchley Park also offers award-winning learning sessions.
Recently, the Trust has made remarkable strides in enhancing the visitor experience and expanding its education programme, with 2023 being a milestone year that culminated in the refurbishment and repurposing of two large wartime buildings, Blocks A and E, into new galleries, a collection centre, a learning centre, and the development of a purpose built 250-seat auditorium. Bletchley Park also hosted the first global AI Safety Summit, that brought together industry professionals and global leaders to discuss the critical topic of AI safety and ethics.
As Sir David Brown steps down from the role after a highly successful tenure, Bletchley Park Trust now seeks a Chair to lead the organisation into its next chapter. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Bletchley Park’s history, the ability to be a compelling external advocate for the Trust, be a highly strategic thinker, bring excellent stakeholder management skills, and the willingness to assist in fundraising activities.
