On 1 October 2018 St George’s Hospital Charity is delighted to welcome Amerjit Chohan to the role of Chief Executive Officer. Amerjit will take over from Paul Sarfaty, who has been in the role of Interim CEO at the Charity for the last 6 months.
Amerjit most recently served as Director of Development and Communications at Imperial Health Charity. He is a highly accomplished director, having worked for over 25 years in the not-for-profit sector. His most recent success includes setting up NHS Charities Together and leading on the NHS Big 7Tea campaign.
Amerjit has diverse experience across strategic planning, fundraising, PR & communications, business development and team leadership. He is currently a Trustee of two other UK charities.
Amerjit has five children and lives in south London. He enjoys running and spending time with his family.
In announcing Amerjit’s appointment, Anna Walker, Chair of Trustees, said: “We are delighted Amerjit is joining us. He comes with extensive fundraising and NHS charity experience and the enthusiasm and commitment to really make a difference for those using St George’s. The Board of Trustees looks forward to working with him”.
In accepting the role, Amerjit said: “I’m delighted to be joining St George’s Hospital Charity and look forward to supporting the Trust, the staff, patients and their families. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the NHS, I’m proud to be part of one of the many NHS charities supporting our incredible National Health Service.”
After stepping down from the role of CEO, Paul Sarfaty will resume his position as a Trustee of the Charity, helping to oversee its broader strategy and governance direction.
