Access Sport
CEO
At Access Sport, we believe in the transformational benefits of inclusive community sport, and our mission is to unleash the untapped potential of community organisations to make sure no one is excluded.
Millions of disabled young people and those from deprived backgrounds face feelings of isolation, mental health issues, and struggles at school or with unemployment every day. We engage and motivate these underserved young people through sport and physical activity. Our work boosts their health and mental wellbeing, reduces isolation, improves their focus at school and gives them the confidence and motivation they need to find a job. From BMX and Boccia to Football and Hockey, we work with local sports clubs to appeal to young people’s passions and interests. We also give local sports clubs the confidence, training, and resources to open their doors to everyone, no matter their ability or background.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion are core to Access Sport’s strategy; therefore, we are actively and warmly encouraging applications from people from all backgrounds and are seeking a CEO who is committed to furthering this focus. We are seeking a new, inspiring, and ambitious CEO, who will build upon our established core programmes in disability inclusion, cycling inclusion and social inclusion. You will be a compelling communicator, able to act as an ambassador and champion of our work. You will be strategic and bring an ability to plan for the future with sound financial acumen. You will be a confident relationship manager, both in terms of building partnerships with senior external stakeholders and local communities, as well as an empowering people leader for the internal team. Most importantly, you will be passionate about the cause, and dedicated to growing our beneficiary impact and helping us reach our goal of enabling all children to be able to enjoy the benefits of sport, engaging and inspiring our staff, partners, supporters and volunteers.
