In the Autumn term we were delighted to partner with Clarissa Farr in hosting two thought-provoking and stimulating events. These events created a forum in which to discuss Clarissa’s new publication, “The Making of Her”, whilst bringing together leaders across the education sector to reflect on the developments of the past year.
As former High Mistress of St Paul’s Girls’ School, Clarissa shared her wealth of expertise – and anecdotes – as to the nature of our education landscape. These included past, present and future opportunities – and indeed challenges – currently facing a diverse range of schools and education environments. Both events were very well attended, and guests were thrilled to give thought to Clarissa’s reflections on the broader nature of leadership, which sparked lively and collaborative debate.

The reception at these events was hugely positive, and sought to look to the new year – and indeed decade – ahead with a sense of aspiration, inspiration and determination. Some of the topics covered included: the opportunity for greater collaboration between state and independent sectors; differences and similarities between all girls and boys education; the merits of single-sex education; the changing nature of pupil and parent expectations; wider political and social engagement amongst pupils; the need for schools to foster leaders for the future; and most notably the need for ever outstanding governance within education environments.
We will continue to share our thoughts on all of the above topics and will be producing an extended thought piece next year. If you would like to be involved please do get in touch.
