It is a particularly exciting and interesting time to be part of Clarion, as we realise our strategy to become the UK’s leading housing group for good quality, sustainable and affordable homes – delivering lasting benefits for our residents and communities.

We are the largest social landlord in the UK and a major developer delivering an average of 1,700 new homes a year. With our team of some 4,000 people, Clarion is building homes and communities across the country – with almost 20,000 new homes in the pipeline and over 9,000 new homes built in the last five years.

We are now looking to appoint a new Non-Executive Director to join our Group Board, and also serve on the board of our commercial subsidiary, Latimer. The expectation is that this person will be part of succession planning for Chair role of Latimer when the current Chair steps down.

This person will be an experienced leader with strategic and commercial acumen, as well as a deep understanding of development, placemaking, and the full range of transactions, partnerships, processes and stakeholders involved in creating diverse and thriving communities in different parts of the UK.

Clarion Housing Group comprises Clarion HA, the landlord for our social housing, and Clarion Futures, our charitable foundation, as well as Latimer. Importantly, this person will connect with Clarion’s social purpose, and will have the capacity and potential to contribute broadly as a Group Board Member, and to all the work we do, providing homes for those who need them most and making a difference for our residents and their communities every day.

The Group Board Member role is remunerated at £20,000 per year. The role requires a time commitment averaging around 2 days per month, and the ability to attend regular meetings in London and travel occasionally to sites and offices elsewhere in the UK.

More than one in five of our staff are from ethnic minorities, and women make up 55% of our workforce. We are a diverse employer and welcome expressions of interest in this role from people with the widest possible range of backgrounds and perspectives.
