The Bank of England is the UK’s central bank. Each of our 5,000 plus people is committed to public service and dedicated to our mission of promoting the good of the people of the United Kingdom by maintaining monetary and financial stability.

The ARTIS (Authorisations, Regulatory Technology and International Supervision) Directorate supports the safety and soundness of financial firms in a dynamic global environment. It achieves this through several key areas: leveraging data analytics and advanced tools for informed decision-making; supervising international banks and investment firms with a forward-looking approach; managing regulatory transactions and their policy implications; and fostering an inclusive work environment. Within ARTIS, the RegTech, Data and Innovation Division (RDID) spearheads the development and implementation of tools for data-driven supervision, leads the digital skills programme, and explores innovative ways to enhance capabilities. RDID collaborates across the PRA and with the Bank’s Data & Analytics programme to deliver on its agenda.

We are now looking for exceptional candidates to lead the RDID, comprising four teams with c. 40 staff. They will serve on the Senior Leadership and Management Team, and contribute to ARTIS strategy. Based in Leeds, they also oversee ARTIS staff there (projected 25-30 by 2027), representing them on the leadership team and providing local management support.  This role offers the opportunity to drive innovation in financial regulation through technology, making a significant impact on the UK’s financial landscape.

Candidates will have a proven track record of strategic leadership and team development. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in analytics and data management/governance, coupled with experience in delivering complex projects. They will demonstrate excellent judgement, prioritisation skills, and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
