MedicAlert Foundation

Chief Executive

Job Reference ZBONA
Closing Date Friday 05 Jul 2024

The MedicAlert Foundation first launched in Turlock, California, in 1956. It has grown internationally, with nine locations as far spread as South Africa and Malaysia, to locations such as Iceland and Cyprus. As the pioneers of medical IDs, we remain the only charity provider of life-saving medical ID services worldwide; in the event of an emergency, crucial medical information can be accessed by first responders and NHS emergency professionals allowing for fast and accurate treatment.

MedicAlert is a £1.3m charity with its own Medical ID production unit and member support team including in-house medical professionals. We place our 36,000 members at the heart of all we do, providing them and their loved ones with peace of mind and giving them confidence to live life to the full, be active and join in. This is a critical time for the organisation as our new Chief Executive will build off our early work around how to best serve our members, considering the wider support we offer as well as customer experience (including digital interface) we offer as part of our wider proposition.

The incoming Chief Executive will lead the Charity in charting the best route to deliver our goals. We need an assured Chief Executive who shares our ambitions and values; someone who will match, and even exceed, the incredible energy that you will find among our staff and supporters in terms of best supporting and advocating for our members and their loved ones.

We are looking for candidates with strategic leadership skills in delivering growth, experience of managing a broad portfolio of responsibilities at executive level in complex environments, and personal credibility in influencing and forging partnerships, providing visible leadership externally and internally. Given our priorities, this person will bring some knowledge of or a deep interest in how marketing and IT can help move the dial for an organisation. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about working in a charitable and membership-led organisation, living our vision of better lives for people with health concerns.

We aim to support and represent all members regardless of ethnicity, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, religion or belief. We believe that ensuring that we have a diverse workforce is an organisational strength and we welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds.
