A true family-run organisation, Arthur and Julia managed the school until their retirement in 1998. Arthur and Julia’s son Frank and his wife Cristina continued the school’s impressive growth and founded the Junior School in 1987. Frank is Runnymede’s current Headmaster, and his daughter Georgina is Assistant Headmistress, and his son Manuel Powell runs the operations, including the campus development project. Runnymede continues to embody the ideals upon which it is founded, encouraging children to develop a love of learning and independence.

The Deputy Head (Academic & Curriculum) is responsible for promoting a vibrant and dynamic academic culture within the Senior School, working to ensure the highest standards of teaching, learning, and academic attainment. They work closely with the Heads of Department and other senior staff to ensure effective development and delivery of the academic curriculum. They are actively involved in overseeing teaching and learning practice and the efficient management of academic departments.

Runneymede College are looking for someone from a strong academic background, who can show an extensive track record of achieving excellent results at GCSE and A-Level and academic management in middle or senior leadership positions. The successful candidate will bring a commitment to the values of the school, a clear educational philosophy and the energy and dynamism to contribute to the life of the school.
