St Giles Trust

Executive Director of Fundraising and Communications

Job Reference RBDSB
Closing Date Monday 12 Feb 2024

Salary: £90,000

At St Giles Trust, we are passionate about seeing a society where everybody – no matter what their background – has a positive future.

A trailblazer and innovator, we are a national charity that has uniquely embraced lived experience for 60 years. We use the expertise and real-life past experiences of our staff to empower thousands of people who are held back by poverty, exploited, abused, dealing with addiction or mental health problems or caught up in crime and help them realise a positive future through support, advice and training. We lead the way in our field and our ambition is to continue to build on our success to meet the needs of our clients that are now greater than ever. We have doubled in size over the last 5 years with a turnover of £20m per year and we are proud of the life-changing impact we continue to have.

We are looking for our next Executive Director of Fundraising and Communications to provide the strategic direction and leadership to meet our fundraising, communications, and policy influencing objectives and execute these alongside a strong team. You will communicate effectively with our supporters, stakeholders and partners and grow and nurture key relationships in support of our income generation goals. An integral part of the executive team, you will work closely with our CEO and others to shape the future direction of the charity. You will be excited to champion our lived experience model internally and externally and the power of that in delivering our life-changing work.

We are looking for a strategic leader with a strong track record in fundraising and business development, with demonstrable success in growing income through a diverse range of income streams. Candidates will be strong communicators, with the capacity for being an ambassador for St Giles and its mission externally – communicating our work, building our brand and political influence with a wide range of stakeholders from funders to local authorities and Government. We are looking for a leader with the emotional intelligence and ability to empower and energise our high-performing team and have fun along the way. Empathy with, and an interest in the charity’s work is a pre-requisite – St Giles is looking for someone who is passionate about, and committed to, our services and people.

As a charity proudly working with diverse communities across the UK, and with staff teams to reflect these communities, we are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all our activities. We welcome and encourage candidates from under-represented groups, to consider applying for this opportunity.
