With that said, there are significant and exciting business cases to develop the estate at both sites, including a potential new build ambulatory diagnostics centre at the West Middlesex site and ambition to further develop the site.

The challenges experienced in the NHS, and the corresponding expectations surrounding the provision of healthcare, places new and different demands upon the Trust and its estate and facilities. In this context, the organisation’s response to needed modernisation requires an estates and facilities strategy that is innovative and responsive to current and future healthcare demands, working closely with care partners in North West London and wider afield to deliver to the highest possible standards.

This is an opportunity to join a globally-renowned teaching hospital with a significant footprint across North West London. The Director of Estates and Facilities will report to and work closely with the Chief Financial Officer Virginia Massaro and will be responsible for the operational management and strategic development of the Trust’s estate, facilities management, capital planning, and capital programme management. This individual will inherit several exciting Estates projects, with the opportunity to create and drive the new estates and facilities strategy going forward. The appointed leader will bring strong influencing skills, sophistication of approach and seniority to a role of this breadth, scale and complexity.

To be successful, the appointed candidate will operate collaboratively within the executive structure of Chelsea and Westminster and with key external stakeholders. This individual is in an excellent position to deliver a series of impactful ongoing projects, while paving the way for an estates strategy that further establishes the footprint and influence expected of an organisation of local, regional, and national significance.
