St Giles Trust

Chief Executive Officer

Job Reference NBDSB
Closing Date Wednesday 16 Nov 2022 (Now Expired)

Salary: circa £120,000

At St Giles Trust, we are passionate about seeing a society where everybody – no matter what their background – has a positive future.

A trailblazer and innovator that has uniquely embraced lived experience at its core, St Giles is a charity using expertise and real-life past experiences to empower people who are not getting the help they need or have been failed time and time again. People held back by poverty, exploited, abused, dealing with addiction or mental health problems, caught up in crime, or a combination of these issues and others.

We show people that there is a way to build a better future – for themselves and those they care about – and help them create this through support, advice, and training. We do not shy away from the challenging issues, we seek them out so that we can support people where they truly need us, when they need us. This is truly life-changing work.

Over the past 15 years, St Giles has grown significantly from a c.£3m regional organisation to a complex c.£20m national charity, leading the way in our field. And our ambition is to continue to grow to meet the need. We are therefore looking for a passionate and experienced leader to join us as our new Chief Executive Officer and help take the charity to its next level, ensuring inclusion and the people we are here to support are at our core.

St Giles is looking for an ambitious and strategic leader who will bring clarity of thought and direction to the charity. They will need to be a strong communicator with the emotional intelligence and ability to empower and energise teams. They will be an ambassador for St Giles and its mission externally – from funders to local authorities and government – as well as internally, with our teams, staff, volunteers, and the people we work with. Given the growth of the charity, we are looking for someone with proven experience of overseeing big structural change and growth to take St Giles forward in this next phase of its development.

Empathy with, and an interest in the charity’s work is a pre-requisite – St Giles is looking for a Chief Executive who is passionate about, and committed to, our services and people.

As a charity proudly working with diverse communities across the UK, and with staff teams to reflect these communities, we are committed to doing our utmost to support inclusion and positive community relations. St Giles Trust is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all our activities, and we welcome and encourage candidates from under-represented groups to consider applying for this opportunity.
