Rose Bruford College

Head of School Performance, Design and Technical Arts (Undergraduate)

Job Reference WAWXC
Closing Date Friday 25 Mar 2022

Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance is an outstanding international higher education institution, with its own taught degree awarding powers, based in South East London. We do things differently – founded in 1950 by visionary voice teacher, Rose Bruford, we seek to maintain and develop her pioneering spirit. Innovation is part of our DNA and we continue to push the boundaries of training in performance, design and technical arts.

We are one of the UK’s largest specialist performance colleges, with over 750 students undertaking full-time undergraduate and full/part-time postgraduate degrees, alongside foundation, part-time and professional development courses. We hold a Gold Award from the Teaching Excellence Framework for consistently delivering learning outcomes of the highest quality.

This is an exciting moment to join the college as we are undergoing a process of significant cultural change to both our curriculum offer and academic framework. Currently this change is focused on our undergraduate courses with the formation of a new single undergraduate school which has combined our five Performance courses with our Design, Management and Technical Arts portfolio of degree courses in order to create a single high quality interdisciplinary school that is expansive in its practices.

The Head of School Performance, Design and Technical Arts (Undergraduate) will undertake strategic leadership of all courses taught within the school. This individual will be a member of the Senior Management Team and will provide leadership in academic matters and manage both staff and resources within the School. This person will work closely with the Vice Principal and senior management team to both work towards the successful implementation of the academic strategy, ensure the portfolio of courses offered by The School is managed efficiently and develop appropriate partnerships and collaborations domestically and internationally that benefit the strategic aims of The College.

Rose Bruford College advocates integrity, inclusivity and creativity. We champion diversity because a rich mix of people makes Rose Bruford College a more productive and creative place to study and work; and we champion equality because it is the right thing to do. We particularly welcome applications from candidates of colour and from the D/deaf and disabled communities.
