The Felix Project
Director of Engagement and Commercial Partnerships
At The Felix Project, we are striving for a London where nobody goes hungry, and good food is never wasted.
No one should have to miss a meal, but right now, millions of people in the UK regularly experience hunger. Yet tonnes of surplus food perfectly good for human consumption is thrown away every day, contributing huge levels of greenhouse gases in the process. At The Felix Project, we rescue food that cannot be sold and would otherwise go to waste. This food is in-date, safe and nutritious. We collect or receive deliveries from supermarkets, wholesalers, farms, restaurants, delicatessens and many other businesses and check, sort and then deliver this food. We work with charities that cook meals and prepare food parcels for vulnerable people, as well as primary schools, holiday clubs and play schemes for children and their families.
We are a young and dynamic charity who have grown considerably in the last 18 months, and have the ambition to keep transforming. We now have a fourth depot, as well as Felix’s Kitchen, a professional kitchen creating as many as 30,000 fresh, nutritious meals weekly and creating our first employability scheme. After just five years, we have become the UK’s largest end-to-end food redistribution charity.
We are looking to appoint an exceptional Director of Engagement and Commercial Partnerships to lead one of our strategic priority areas – income generation and growth. You will be a seasoned leader who has led and nurtured teams, creating and maintaining a range of income streams. You will be commercially astute, creative, and rooted in the impact that we as an organisation can make by working in partnership, be that with the not-for-profit, private or public sectors. You will thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment and will be excited about the continued growth we are looking to achieve.
Reflecting the diverse communities that The Felix Project is proud to support, we are committed to finding a Director of Engagement and Commercial Partnerships who is dedicated to furthering diversity and inclusion within the charity. We actively and warmly encourage applications therefore from a broad and deep range of backgrounds and experiences.
