Deputy Secretary to the Governors
The Corporation of Oundle School invites applications for the position of Deputy Secretary to the Governors, an inaugural role within the Bursarial Team. This is a part-time role that reports to the Bursar.
Oundle School is one of Britain’s leading HMC co-educational boarding and day schools, with 870 full boarders and 250 day pupils. The School’s history dates back to 1556 when Oundle’s strong links with the Grocers’ Company of the City of London were established. At the beginning of the 20th century, Oundle was put firmly on the map as a leading English public school with an established reputation for excellence in science and engineering, a reputation still renowned today. Also within the Corporation of Oundle School is Laxton Junior School, a day school for 260 children aged 4 – 11. Laxton Junior School is located nearby and within the town of Oundle.
The Deputy Secretary to the Governors will ensure that appropriate and up to date governance is in place for the Governing Body, taking responsibility for all aspects of administration and training for the group. The post holder will also provide wider support to the Bursar on other relevant queries and issues. Working with the Bursar, they will ensure the overall efficient functioning of the Governing Body.
Applicants will be educated to degree level and will have operated on, or with, a board or senior leadership team. They will have knowledge of legal processes and procedures with regard to being the Secretary to the Governors, or the Company Secretary, of a major organisation. The appointed candidate will be adaptable with a high level of attention to detail, discrete, professional and calm at all times.
